|
Direct and oversee Services including all field service and office activities associated with valve testing, actuator maintenance, and valve maintenance at assigned sites. Ensure that outage execution exceeds customer (value factor) expectations at assigned sites. Oversee the development and training of Valve casual and permanent resources. Engage and participate in OPEX initiatives to insure continuous improvement.
Major Responsibilities
1. Manage all aspects of Services at assigned sites including customer interface, intellectual capital, pre-outage, outage, and post outage processes, training, and equipment.
2. Maintain compliance with the Crane Nuclear Quality Assurance Program, as applicable, and pre-outage, outage, and post outage processes. Conduct Readiness Reviews and Post Outage critiques for assigned sites.
3. Achieve customer and Crane Nuclear safety, quality, schedule, human performance, and OTD (Fill Rate and On Time Arrival) objectives for Services at assigned sites.
4. Support and implement continuous improvement for Services. This will require use of Lean tools including Value Stream Mapping, Transactional Process Improvement, Visual Management, 5S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, and Problem Solving. The majority of the improvement will be accomplished through Kaizen events.
5. Assess, develop, and upgrade full time and temporary MOV personnel. Develop full time MOV personnel to be best-in-class with regard to job knowledge, execution, performance, and customer interface skills. Provide the best trained and qualified temporary MOV personnel.
6. Participate in daily operations meetings and walk-throughs. Ensure Nuclear Services visual management is maintained and issues are being supported and/or addressed
7. Develop and maintain annual Services Forecast for assigned sites. Support weekly update meetings with Finance.
8. Develop customer relationships at appropriate levels (i.e., Valve Program Manager and Maintenance Manager).
9. Support industry initiatives with organizations such as USA, MUG/AUG/NIC, EPRI, INPO, ANS, ASME, etc.
10. Prepare and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
11. Keep management informed of status of major customer projects and/or outages, customer, personnel, equipment, and SQDC issues/concerns, intellectual capital development, and Op Ex initiatives through periodic written reports and meetings.
12. Extended travel required.
Required Experience and/or Education:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Physical Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
Five Years Utility Project experience required.
Ten Years experience in nuclear services
Three years managerial experience
Knowledge of nuclear power generation plants, including an understanding of safety functions, systems and components.
Expertise in valve maintenance and outage maintenance
Broad knowledge of actuator maintenance, and valve testing techniques.
Knowledge of NRC requirements associated with valves and actuators in nuclear power plants.
Knowledge of management, communications, and team building techniques
Knowledge and application of Lean tools desired
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
