| Typical Responsibilities:
This position will be in the Nuclear Regulatory Assurance group within Southern California Edisons (SCE) San Onofre Nuclear Generating (SONGS). The successful candidate will be responsible for compliance activities as they relate to NRC reportability requirements.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Manages the reportability, licensee event report and other 10 CFR reporting requirements that have operational or financial impact on SONGS and the company.
Balances mix of day-to-day operations and policy with strategic planning.
Develops medium- to long- term business plans and objectives for the organization, and contributes to the development of departmental business plans and corporate objectives.
Provides information to executive management and input into setting strategic direction.
Establishing and developing business objectives and plans.
Managing and allocating financial and employee resources.
Providing leadership to staff including counseling, training, and development, salary administration, selection and/or approval of selected personnel, affirmative action, equal opportunity, and disciplinary action.
May act for department head or division manager in his/her absence.
Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Basic Qualification:
Must have five or more years of experience managing or supervising an organization.
Must have experience with design basis and regulatory processes.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Typically possesses five or more years of experience managing or supervising an organization or unit.
Demonstrated experience with program controls, costing, contract management and budget controls experience.
Demonstrated experience with nuclear power plant operations, maintenance and engineering.
Demonstrated experience with licensing basis, design basis related to licensing and the NRC regulatory process.
Demonstrated effective experience working with senior level executives and program teams leading to the successful delivery of complex programs, and managing a diverse team.
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and prioritizing strategic initiatives and prioritizing strategic initiatives that have a large impact on the organization as well as performance improvement functions around nuclear safety.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills to deliver information across all levels of the organization, some of which may be technical or sensitive in nature, including nuclear safety issues.
Demonstrated experience interfacing with clients, regulators, direct reports, corporate officers and/or management to develop and implement solutions related to technical and regulatory issues.
Strong teamwork and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others by prioritizing activities, delegating and monitoring the progress of assignments, and empowering employees with the authority necessary to accomplish objectives.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a safety conscious work environment.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project.
Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
