Job Description
The QA/QC/NDE Technician II-Nuclear is responsible for the performance of mechanical, electrical, and civil inspections, non-destructive examinations and document reviews to verify conformance of work activities to quality requirements. The incumbent performs Quality Control/Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) functions by using examination processes such as magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, visual (VT-1, VT-2, & VT-3), Ultrasonic Testing, ASME Section XI, and IWE/IWL, as well as general Quality Control Mechanical and Electrical inspections to specified criteria.
In addition, this position will serve as a shared resource for refueling outages at other nuclear facilities, perform Quality Assurance observations of field work activities and serve on Nuclear Assessment teams as a Peer Assessor.
The position requires some travel (@10-15%) to support refueling outages at other nuclear facilities and occasionally perform assessments.
An additional requirement of this position will be to qualify for and maintain a position on Robinson Nuclear Plant's Emergency Response Organization (ERO), which will require that the incumbent live within 60 minutes of the Plant.
A high school diploma (or G.E.D) with at least 3 years of mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in nuclear power generation is required. A two year associate's degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline and directly related work experience is preferred.
The position is posted at the entry level classification and would require the incumbent to obtain and maintain NDE certification to at least Level II (Level III Preferred) to be successful.
The position may be filled at the higher classification level (i.e. QA/QC/NDE Technician I-Nuclear) provided the candidate currently possesses certification in a general QC mechanical, electrical or VT-2 function and has at least 6 years of QA/QC/NDE experience with 3 of those years in the nuclear industry.
