Job Description
This individual is responsible for performing Principal Level III QDA leadership for eddy-current testing and as well as supporting the Progress Energy nuclear fleet NDE programs. As the Corporate ECT Level III in the corporate office, the candidate is responsible for providing direction and oversight of eddy current testing activities at 5 nuclear units to maintain compliance with regulatory and industry requirements. The scope of the eddy current inspections includes steam generators at pressurized water reactor units and heat exchangers at all nuclear units. The individual will develop and maintain an active role in industry-related activities.
Responsibilities include providing direct input to the scope of testing, review and disposition of data during inspection activities, maintaining procedure and program infrastructure, analysis software, database of results and evaluations, and oversight of schedule development. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the site specific performance demonstration for steam generator programs. T
The candidate should have a minimum of eleven years industry experience in the area of eddy current testing, at least five years of which must be in the nuclear industry. An engineering degree is not required but is desirable. The office location is Progress Energy corporate headquarters in Raleigh. The candidate is expected to travel approximately 25% of the time and will be expected to provide on-site support for refueling outages at the nuclear stations.
Qualifications
Position requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years like-work experience. Four years of like-work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree, or combination of education and like-work experience totaling 11+ years.
