APPLICATION ENGINEER I
Job Summary:
As an Application Engineer I, you will be part of a collaborative Engineering team working directly with IPS’ major clients and projects. Using your skills and experience, you will provide technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications. You may also have the opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally to client and IPS sites.
Duties and responsibilities to include:
• Oversees pre-sale and/or post-sale support of company products/systems.
• Answers customer inquiries concerning system software and applications.
• Provides software development and consultation to prospective users.
• May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping.
• Prepares detailed hardware specifications on company products.
• Designs system and prepares application design sketches.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
Experience: Requires 0-3 years of related experience.
APPLICATION ENGINEER II
Job Summary:
As an Application Engineer II, you will be a major player on a collaborative Engineering team working directly with IPS’ major clients and projects. You will work on projects of high priority and visibility, remaining in budget and on schedule, while working within the specifications of the contract and the scope of the project. Using your skills and experience, you will provide recommendations to customer in optimizing their resources in the most efficient manner. You will work independently and participate in post shipment commissioning and startup activities to secure customer acceptance and satisfaction. You may also have the opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally to client and IPS sites.
Duties and responsibilities to include:
• Interprets customer technical specifications and generates strategies for implementation in production.
• Assists customer in defining detailed application, system, and hardware specification from Customer requirements.
• Prepares detailed hardware/software specifications on company products.
• Assists with on-site engineering, start-up and application commissioning. Participates in customer acceptance tests.
• Develops software and completes all necessary documentation to meet requirements of the application specifications.
• May direct the activities of other service personnel.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline.
Experience: Requires 2-5 years of related professional experience.
Travel: approximately 25%
