Job Title: Fulltime Security Officer w/ Secret Clearance in Silicon Valley
Description
Security Officer assigned to this account will have personal contact with customers, employees, visitors and suppliers of Client and, even though independent Contractors may be deemed by some customers, employees, and visitors as direct representatives of Client. Security Officers will meet high standards of appearance and demeanor, and shall at all time treat customers, employees, visitors and suppliers of Client with the utmost courtesy and respect. Security is an integral part of accomplishing this objective. The primary responsibility of each security officer will be to provide quality customer service. Typical duties will involve providing directions, assisting Client’s customers, tenants, visitors, employees and vendors. Occasionally, escorts may be required. Answering telephone inquiries and serving as a central or visible source of information is a significant part of the security officer’s job. In addition, Contractor will assure Client that each of its assigned personnel will comply with the following duties and responsibilities: • Possess a functional level of literacy and be able to communicate successfully in the English language both orally and in basic written communications. • Shall have no history of serious dishonesty or undetected criminal activity. • Must be citizens of the United States. • Have the ability to demonstrate psychological stability under a variety of conditions. • Shall be physically and mentally able to perform assigned duties as determined by the Client. • Possess a high school diploma or equivalency’ and have two years of experience demonstrating the ability to meet and deal with the general public, the ability to understand and apply various rules and regulations or the ability to maintain pose and self-control under stress. • Assigned security officers must be cleared to the level of DoD SECRET. Interim Secret clearances are acceptable • Certified in Basic First Aid and CPR. • Prior to assignment, all Contractor personnel will execute Client approved non-disclosure agreement. • Respond to all alarm conditions and any other indications of suspicious activities. • Conduct safety and security patrols of Client’s property. • Enforce all access control procedures through identification of personnel and control of entry and exits to Client’s facilities and vital areas in accordance with Client’s instructions and Post Instructions developed by Contractor. • Use reasonable effort to observe, deter and report persons observed attempting to gain or gaining unauthorized access to any of Client’s facilities. • Enforce control over removal of Client’s property and documents or any vital material in accordance with established procedures. • Respond to suspicious incidents whether discovered by Client or by Contractor and take reports on items reported stolen or damaged from Client’s facilities, and where requested by Client, follow incidents to their conclusion, including court appearances. • Cooperate with and assist law enforcement agencies in connection with federal, state or local crimes committed against Client. • Maintain the scene of a crime to protect possible evidence in accordance with established procedures. • Respond to and provide assistance in security related situations (including fires, accidents, internal disorders and attempts of sabotage or other criminal acts), in conformance with common sense and good judgment and in keeping with Client’s policies and procedures. • Assume additional responsibilities, even though not specifically enumerated herein, necessary to uphold and maintain a secure environment at Client’s facilities as may be set forth in Contractor’s special orders agreed to by Client and Contractor. • Have basic computer skills and ability to operate CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and other equipment. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Must be at least 18 years of age or as appropriate to state or contractual obligations. 2. High school diploma or GED, plus at least one verifiable employment; or at least 10 years of verifiable employment history. 3. No criminal convictions as specified under Allied Guidelines. 4. Ability to read, write and speak English. 5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing. 6. Able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States. 7. Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. 8. Ability to interact with all levels of Allied employees and the public in a direct, timely and professional manner. 9. Ability to deal with internal and external customers and to ensure compliance with fair employment practices. 10. Ability to get along with other employees, follow directions, work under stress, add value and continuously improve. 11. Ability to conform with established procedures and to help identify and solve problems. 12. Ability to maintain regular attendance to ensure avoidance of unpredictable, frequent and/or ongoing tardiness. 13. Negative result on pre-employment drug screen. 14. Successful completion of Allied’s Security Officer Basic Course exam. 15. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record necessary for some sites/posts.
